Team Goko: Forrest

Forrest - he not only has the perfect name for a kayak tour guide, but he also boasts the perfect resume. He has a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation and a Minor in Fisheries from the University of Florida. He worked in the research field after graduation and then changed gears into guiding - finding it is a fun and effective way to connect people with nature, and set a platform for preservation.

A Florida native, Forrest has built-in knowledge and love for local wildlife and water. He has worked all over the state, including the untamed Everglades and historic St. Augustine, and now, Tampa Bay. He has experience in other parts of the country as well, consciously hunting, fishing, rafting and sharing his mastery of nature.

Fish are a strength of Forrest's. His sharp eye can spot them with ease and his expertise in identification and behaviors are something quite special. The years of formal education and professional experience melt together with a genuine love, making him a perfect ambassador for aquatic life.

He splits his time guiding fly fishing trips out west and kayak eco-tours here at Goko. We are so pleased and proud to have him on our team. This brings us to the introduction of Goko's first Fish Fest! Led by the fish expert himself, Forrest. Join us for a 2 hour event delving into details of local fish, ecology, identification, and a fish spotting paddle. All attendees will have an opportunity to ask Forrest questions, kayak around beautiful Shell Key Preserve and will go home with a new appreciation of Florida fish.
